Spotlight on UNESCO’s Keynote Speech by Professor Cecilia Chan! 🌟
As an academic and expert in the field of education, Prof. Cecilia Chan, recently received the honour of being invited as the Keynote Speaker at the prestigious International Institute of Online Education (IIOE) Global Partners Summit organized by UNESCO, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
The Summit aims to bring together education ministers, policy-makers, researchers, practitioners, and enterprises from around the world to discuss the opportunities and challenges of AI for higher education. The meeting addresses topics such as: How does AI impact higher education governance and policies on the national and institutional level? How will teacher professional development change and evolve with challenges and development of AI technologies? The meeting also showcases some of the best practices and innovative examples of using AI in higher education from different regions and contexts, by different HEIs and market providers.
In her presentation titled, “AI is here to stay – Is it A Game Changer? Or A Pandora Box?”, Prof. Chan captivated the audience with her insightful discussion on the potential of AI to revolutionize the higher education landscape. Her speech explored possibilities of a future where AI seamlessly integrates with higher education, opening up new horizons for learners and educators alike, and illustrated that the future depends on how we, as humans, and as educators, choose to utilize AI. 🤖📚
